Welcome to our website. I am rather amazed at the irony that our small faith community that meets in one of the best preserved examples of early 20th century frame construction in Western North Carolina is going world-wide. Yet, I believe that this is the call of Christ and the call of the church; that is, to be a part of a global community that calls each of us into a deeper relationship with God while directing us outward to love and service of others. While all faith communities develop a “peculiar” or “particular” feel, our community is unique. The worship in our sanctuary is traditional and simple. Because we are not a “program” church, we have few meetings. The juxtaposition of simplicity both in the building’s architecture and the congregation’s organization invite many of us to a deeper spiritual walk. People repeatedly speak from the heart about the joy of finding a community where worship and outreach are the focus. Our Wesleyan heritage reminds us that God’s grace surrounds all of us from our birth and invites us to experience God’s love (prevenient grace). Whether at a particular moment or as a process, we come to experience God’s accepting and justifying grace in salvation. As Christians we move to the goal of perfection through sustaining, sanctifying grace. As a means of grace, we at Lake Toxaway UM Church worship weekly, share the sacrament of communion monthly, and trust in God’s never ending love to enfold us as we enfold others in the body of Christ. Come join us in worship as we live in the modern age while holding fast to the traditions of our faith and appreciating this simple structure of another era. If I, as pastor, can be of help, please feel free to call or email me. Shalom and Grace, Marcus Dodson 828.553-0282

TO PRINT any portion or document from this site please note
In laketoxawayumc.org/Joomla! version 1.5, there are two known issues with using the PDF button to view articles in PDF format and therefore, easily print.
- With Internet Explorer, pressing this button produces a blank screen. You can work around this if you right-click on the button and select "Open Link", "Open Link in New Tab", or "Open Link in New Window". I have also found that the right click will allow a "save target as..." option whereby the desired section can be saved to your computer and then printed from Adobe. The button works correctly in Firefox.
- With both Internet Explorer and Firefox, some articles don't format correctly.
These issues are being worked on and should be corrected in a future Lake Toxaway UMC/Joomla! release. Thank you for your patience.
